First Reconciliation/First Eucharist
For First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, Ss. John and Paul offers family-centered sacramental preparation. In addition to attending the Parish Intergenerational Faith Formation gatherings, parents and children come to learning centers for separate age-appropriate preparation.
Participation in Parish Faith Formation is required for two years prior to celebrating the sacraments, so in order for your child to celebrate these sacraments in 2nd grade, parents and children must participate in the Parish Faith Formation program during the child's 1st and 2nd grade years. Or parents and children may participate in Parish Faith Formation program during 2nd and 3rd grade and will celebrate the sacraments in 3rd grade. Sacramental sessions can begin when you feel your child is ready; this may be later than 2nd grade. -
Reconciliation & Eucharist Retreats for Parents
We will begin with parent retreats for Reconciliation and Eucharist preparation. We will use the Forgiven and Presence series from FORMED to lead us in small group discussions and learning. All parents of children preparing for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are required to attend.
The Reconciliation Retreat is Sunday, October 12th, 2025 from 1-4 pm. We will meet in Founders Hall. The Eucharist Retreat is Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 1-4 pm. These retreats are for parents only.A full calendar of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist dates are under the documents section.
Child care is offered for the Ss. John and Paul retreats, but must be requested in advance. Request child care by noon on the preceding Friday by emailing Shelly Hiemer.
